God works wonders in one week

Posted by MsKatrina on Tuesday Aug 14, 2012 Under Religion

I have a friend who has been struggling from homelessness for over two years.

Not the kind of homeliness that you are probably picturing…

Dirty with a shopping cart sleeping under a bridge.

No, this is the kind of homeliness that practically goes unnoticed in society.

One of a hard working mother who just cannot seem to save up enough to pay a deposit so she moves her and her kids from friend’s to friend’s house.

But on this faithful Sunday, our Pastor calls a prophecy.

He says that he doesn’t know who he is talking to but the person who has been struggling for two years and still has been faithful to God, that person’s season of hardship is over.

On that very Monday, she gets notice from her social worker that they can pay her first month’s rent and deposit.

That very day she calls landlords and finds one just down the street from me who is aware of and takes that type of payment.

By the evening, we have viewed the apartment and she has completed the application.

By that Tuesday evening, he has confirmed her income and approved her for the apartment.

By that Wednesday, social services has written a promissary note and she has keys!!!

For the first time in Years!!

But is God done?

On Thursday, the water is on.

But there is a problem of an overdue electric bill.

And do you think that a $600 power bill can stop my God.

Because God put it on the heart of just one of the dozen of customer service workers at dom.com to turn on her power if she can pay just $200 of that bill.

And here’s the kicker…the power was on even before she made the payment.

Yep, on Thursday night, she and her three daughters spent their very first night in the comfort and security of their own home!!

On Saturday, with the help of an Explorer, Expedition, and a pickup truck, her furniture was moved in her new home and out of storage.

A new home in one week.

From one Sunday to the next, you went from homeless to being a tenant in good standing.

You can’t tell me there is no God and that my God ain’t good!!!

…but I don’t hate the savings!

Posted by MsKatrina on Thursday Feb 16, 2012 Under Ramble

I think I hate couponing…

Making sure that I get a paper every Sunday (or shelling out the bucks for a subscription!)…

Feeling the need to actually read the newspaper because I paid for it…

Checking out the sales ads to see what is on sale that I already have a coupon for…

Cutting out all of the coupons…

Then organizing said coupons by category making sure to put the ones that are gonna expire soonest in the front…

Going online to read matchups (and not finding anything that I want!)…

Printing out coupons of products that I would actually use….

Cutting said printed out coupons…

Either lugging my whole coupon binder to the stor…

Organizing the coupons that I will use that day….

Forcing myself to pretty much only shop via coupons (meat, milk, and fruit/veggies being the only exceptions!)…

Realizing that this store does not sell the product that I so painstackingly cut a coupon for…

Even with a coupon, it is not worth the price….

Having to stand in the customer service line to get a raincheck on products that have been sold out…

So, what do I not hate about couponing?

The savings!

I was sold when my friend saved 49% of her grocery bill a couple of weeks ago.

And even with my haphazard method, I saved 14%.

Now that I have gotten a bit more organized, I waltzed out with a 39% savings.

Not bad, eh!

So, I shall coupon on….

Will you?

Last Week Rap Up (Dec 11 – 17, 2011)

Posted by MsKatrina on Sunday Dec 18, 2011 Under Ramble

I know that I am way behind on doing a weekly wrap up but you could always just subscribe to each blog to keep up, right?

Anywho, away we go…..

You know how I said that I wouldn’t be changing the name of this blog again?  Well, I kinda lied. Lol.  I thought of a name that fits my personality perfectly and this blog exactly. It is for sale and I have written the company to see how much they are asking. If it is reasonable, I will buy it. If not, I will find that is close enough….

From PSAT to SAT and all in the 7th Grade!

There was a Wendy Williams movie?!?!

Nothing much has really changed here. Wait! I think I may have made the color change since I last posted on here. It is still green but I softened it a bit. Oh, and I found some professional black woman that I liked so I used it for the header image.  The placement of the  ladies ino the words was a happy accident that I kept.

I prefer this shade of blue more than the other two but I am not 100% sold on it. What do you think? Any suggestions?

My Spoiled Self

I know, I know…I need to shrink that image. I have been super lazy since Thanksgiving but I finally managed to write a few posts on this blog.

Kim Kardashian Looking Warm

Lindsay Lohan’s Dress for the Pregnant.

The GiveAway Car

I can’t believe that I am just now noticing that the posts on here do not have dates. Grr. Blogger!!!

Author Elisabeth Hirsch celebrates book launch with iPad Giveaway

Bloggers: Sign Up Now for the Spring Shoe Runway Event

CraveBox: For Bloggers and Bargain Shoppers

And in the delusional state that I just do not have enough blogs, I started yet another one. I’m still working on the design of this one but expect the subject matter to be HOT!

I undoubtably missed some posts because I did not feel like logging into all of the blogs to pick up the ones that haven’t posted yet. I am actually writing this post on Thursday but setting it up to come out on Sunday so that I will not forget (again!) to post one. Lol.

Unfortunately, that leaves this weeks post on TheGoodBuy.net out because I have those scheduled to post on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I may change that. Meanwhile, you could subscribe and not have to worry abou
