I am 37.
I am a 37 year old woman.
I am a 37 year old woman who is addicted to Naruto.
Yep, I admit it…I love me some ‘Ruto.
If you are not familiar with the show, Naruto is the story of a boy who, although rarely mistreated, is ignored by the village in which he lives because of a demon sealed inside of him.
Although most of the characters in similar circumstances turn to the dark side, Naruto instead vows to prove to the village that he is worthy of being recognized.
It is a story of will and bravery against any adversary.
Well written and beautifully animated, it encourages our youth (and our not so youthful) to never give up and to be willing to lay down your life for those you hold precious.
Naruto’s Way of the Ninja changes not only his life, but the world.
But I had a twinge of both happiness and sadness yesterday as I watched the beginning of the Fourth Great Ninja War.
I am happy that we are about to see the epic battle between Naruto and Sasuke (if Naruto ever wakes up to what is going on and stops checking animal’s heehaws for gender verification! Lol.).
On the other hand….the epic battle usually foreshadows the end of a series.
The Last Air bender?
So, although I am super excited about the battle and I going to be so bummed to see an end of a series, cartoon or not, that has been such a strong part of my life for so many years.
