I call my middle son I.T. because when I can’t get something to work (or just don’t feel like doing it myself), I call the I.T. department (him!). Lol.
He, however, is not amused with the nickname so don’t tell him I told you, ‘kay.
We recently got new computers off Ebay and I, in my infinite wisdom, went to my favorite resource, CNet.com, to find a good (ie, free) antivirus.
Of the ones that support Windows 7, I chose the AVG Antivirus.
Everything was good except one very important fact.
It bogged my computer down to a crawl.
Actually, a crawl is being way to generous.
I clicked on a link, washed dishes, put in a load of laundry, and made a sandwich and still the link page had not opened.
Yeah, that’s why I.T. was pissed.
Apparently, I should leave all software decisions in the capable hands of a 13-year-old.
Dang, was it that big of a deal??
So what if it took 20 minutes to move from page to page.
Anyway, a quick uninstall fixed the entire problem.
And I quick click in the survey let the company know that the extreme lag was why it was being uninstalled completely.
