How Black Hair Matters

It is a well known fact in my household that I get excited whenever I see a black woman on television or in a movie and she is rocking her natural hair.

I can’t help but think of how the world has changed in just my lifetime.

I actually can remember when the only black woman on television were the maids.

Seriously, young folks…just the maids…or the chauffer if it was a fella.

And now we have black woman rockin’ their natural hair in name brand product commercials such as Pillsbury and Tropicana.

My how the world has changed…for the better…
